Troubleshooting on Multi-Functional Machines
- Canon PGI-5/CLI-8 Refilled Ink Cartridge cannot be detected.
After refilled cartridge installed, the multi-functional machine will give an error CHECK INK U130 / U162 / U163. It indicates, "Ink may have run out", or, "The remaining level of the ink tank cannot be correctly detected."
Cause: Canon PGI-5/CLI-8 series cartridges have smart chip equipped, once the cartridge runs out of ink, the chip indicates the "ink low" status.
Solution: Press and hold the [Stop/Reset] button for at least 5 seconds, then release it. Then printing can continue, and The function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled.
