Troubleshooting on Inkjet Printers
- Canon PGI-5/CLI-8 Refilled Ink Cartridge cannot be detected.
After refilled cartridge installed, the printer's alarm lamp blinks 4,13 or 16 times. It indicates, "Ink may have run out", or, "The remaining level of the ink tank cannot be correctly detected."
Cause: Canon PGI-5/CLI-8 series cartridges have smart chip equipped, once the cartridge runs out of ink, the chip indicates the "ink low" status.
Solution: Press and hold the [Resume/Cancel] button for at least 5 seconds, then release it. Then printing can continue, and The function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled.
